Auroville is a unique project - regenerative approaches in all spheres are researched, demonstrated, and practiced here -   land, water, farming, biodiversity, energy, habitat! 

Auroville has been endorsed by UNESCO multiple times as a project which shares the same values and aims.

Auroville is committed to provide lifelong learning opportunities - in trainings in regenerative work, and much more: 

- Auroville Farms, AuroOrchard - organic farming, food processing and food systems: 

- Auroville Botanical Gardens  - ecological horticulture

- Auroville Earth Institute  - alternative construction - with earth, and 3d printed housing. 

- Wasteless - education in recycling for schools

- Auroville Green Practices - alternative construction, conscious living, reforestation, and more

- Auroville Consulting offers a host of services in the energy sector, wind , solar, decarbonisation, etc. 

These are just a few of the many organisations developing via Auroville`s bottom up culture, from personal initiatives to full blown organisations well known in India and with international reputation.

For India, Auroville has been a "hub of international sustainable practices" for decades. 

We are raising funds to make all of this and more happen on Auroville`s land: We urgently need to consolidate land in  the greenbelt to protect its ecology. Your support for our small, dedicated team, will go a long way - to keep us networking, documenting, and support new ideas and projects.

Auroville has build a unique expertise in regenerating land in tropical conditions since 1968. The pioneers purchased large tracts of land from private landowners - for the lowest market rates. Incidentally this was land which was highly degraded, due to  deforestation and decades of overgrazing combined with sand storms, heavy monsun rains, and draught for 6 months per year.

The pioneers experimented with numerous approaches - planting pioneer trees, very extensive water conservation work, and local varieties of field crops incl dryland rice and millets. Growing vegetables was possible only in small pockets, due to constraints in availability of compost and water.

Today Auroville is a organic food producer, feeding the Auroville Community and beyond with a large range of produce: dairy, vegetables, poultry, grains. Further, food processing has  blossomed - benefitting from the international culinary expertise available here. 

Anshul Agrawal is a highly experienced organic farmer, and member of the managing team at AuroOrchard Farm. He expresses the core of Aurovilles Farmgroup`s approach regenerative agriculture.
