Together, we will implement water and sanitation interventions in households (such as suitable areas for personal hygiene, Water filters and Rainwater harvesting system) and make improvements to the community water and sanitation infrastructure, providing safety to 90 mexican families
The state of Chiapas is one of the most abundant in terms of water resources in Mexico. Ironically, access to safe water and sanitation solutions for its population is inadequate. Chiapas, with a population of 5,252,808, of which a total of 42% (2,597,519 people) lack access to potable water services, and 38% (2,348,691 people) do not have proper sanitation solutions
Starting from a territorial diagnosis for community selection, we will focus on empowering, training, and raising community awareness on water conservation and waste management. We will implement water and sanitation interventions in households (Facilities within their homes) and make improvements to the community water and sanitation infrastructure
61,500 vulnerable people will have access to safe water. This project will build capacity within communities and community committees to operate and maintain the facilities. Community members will act as change agents, promoting the adoption of hygiene practices among the population.
