As previously reported, the situation has not been very good for our beneficiaries due to the prolonged dry spell. Most of them were very affected by the drought and they had nothing in their kitchen gardens by April. Due to climate change, we did not receive the long rains as expected and thus resulted to drying up of their kitchen gardens. We are happy to report that we have had rains in all areas where our beneficiaries are and they have reported that their kitchen gardens are starting to be green. We have already supplied seeds and organic fertilizer to them and most of them have already planted and as they said their gardens are now green. Our earlier plan to install rope and washer pumps in their homesteads was not successful due to limited funds we were not able to raise funds towards that initiative but we have not given up we are still fundraising for that and we hope one time we will realize our dream. Apart from being affected by the prolonged dry spell, our beneficiaries are proceeding on well though with different challenges but we have been encouraging them to keep going and remain focused. We thank all our well-wishers for providing their support towards our beneficiaries.
