Dear GlobalGiving donors,
Grace is 19 years old and graduated at the top of her class in Kyengera, Uganda. She dreams of building a better future, yet she has never used a computer. Like many young people in her community, she faces a simple but devastating barrier: access.
Despite their talent and determination, thousands of youth in Kyengera are excluded from the digital economy due to high internet costs, limited technology resources, and a lack of digital skills training. Young women face even greater challenges accessing opportunities in technology.
To change this, we are establishing a Solar-Powered AI & Digital Skills Hub that will train 500 young people each year in AI tools, coding, digital marketing, and freelancing. To promote inclusion, 60% of training opportunities will be reserved for young women.
The Hub will also provide free community WiFi, connecting more than 2,000 residents to educational resources, healthcare information, and job opportunities. Powered by solar energy, the center will remain accessible and sustainable even during power outages.
The impact will be life-changing. Young people will gain practical skills, access online opportunities, and build pathways to sustainable incomes. Families will benefit from increased earnings, while the wider community gains access to information and services that improve quality of life.
Every contribution helps bring this vision closer to reality. Together, we can ensure that talented young people like Grace are not left behind as the world moves deeper into the digital age.
Thank you for investing in a future where opportunity is accessible to all.
With gratitude,
Solar-Powered AI & Digital Skills Hub Team
