We strive to make schools a gathering place for families, where they can interact and acquire knowledge that enhances their quality of life by improving access to safe food.
To achieve this, we support the creation of agroecological gardens in both schools and homes, offering various training opportunities.
We organize food security workshops with experts from Dr. Ramón Maza Hospital in La Madrid. We connect the needs of the community with healthcare professionals so that families can gain greater knowledge about how to maximize the yield of their vegetable crops. They also learn practical ways to prepare these crops to appeal to the youngest members of the household, ensuring their diet positively impacts their cognitive and physical development.
With this strategy of providing information and raising awareness, we aim not only to benefit the school community but also to engage local residents, encouraging them to resume agroecological practices that ensure the self-production of the food they consume daily.
These training sessions will continue throughout the year, and we plan to replicate them in other schools, so that ACDI's impact continues to grow.
