Thank you—we can’t say it enough! Because of your generosity, people struggling after the devastating earthquake that hit southeastern Afghanistan earlier this year were able to access emergency relief, shelter, and support in their long-term efforts to rebuild and recover. This disaster came at a time when the people of Afghanistan were already facing an unimaginable crisis. You responded swiftly and generously through GlobalGiving’s Afghanistan Earthquake Relief Fund.
Thanks to your donation, the fund has powered six grants to high-impact nonprofit organizations that mobilized immediately to address community needs after the earthquake.
Final grants were made from this fund in October, before the typically harsh winter, and amid an ongoing hunger crisis. Here is a description of the critical work you’re supporting:
This fund is no longer accepting donations, and this will be the last fund report of this kind from our team. You can continue to support the people of Afghanistan by donating to the Afghanistan Emergency Fund, through which we’re partnering with incredible changemaking organizations.
With gratitude,
Sarah + the GlobalGiving team
