Maugo Village Table Banking
Maugo Village Table Banking

Thanks to your support, our newest Community Health & Empowerment Clubs (CHECs) have finished financial literacy and are lining up their first income projects. Here’s where things stand:

  • Maugo – Community rice cultivation to begin soon. Table-banking groups have saved Ksh 40,000, targeting Ksh 60,000 to support small input loans.

  • Nyamokenye – Preparing to construct an apiary and start a beekeeping/honey venture. 15 members selected for training; 2 apiary sites identified. Table-banking capital at Ksh 82,550.

  • KimukaInfrastructure underway: watersheds complete and water pumped to tanks; toilets finished; new east–west coop under construction sized for 500 chicks; storage room renovation ongoing.

  • Soklo (Mfangano Island)Diversified crops to begin soon (groundnuts, kale, maize). Teams have set roles for bed prep, planting, and shared maintenance.

Across the wider network, table banking is powering real momentum:

  • Nyamecheo sold Ksh 4,000 in vegetables/seedlings and leased an extra plot (2-year lease Ksh 8,000).

  • Nyamagesa harvested 79 tins of beans from maize intercropping (planted with Ksh 12,000).

  • Kanyamfwa (Cereal A) completed a second share-out: Ksh 178,970 in savings and Ksh 63,225 in interest; cereal profits of Ksh 55,200 being reinvested.

Every shilling saved and every beam raised is another step from learning to livelihood. Thank you for fueling community-led progress.
