Momentum is Building

Just a few months ago, we shared our dream of bringing our proven Community Health and Empowerment Club (CHEC) model to a new village in western Kenya. Thanks to you—our GlobalGiving community—that vision is getting closer to reality.

Since our last update, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes and on the ground:

Community selection is underway. Our field team has been evaluating potential partner villages based on need, readiness, and leadership potential. We expect to finalize the location for our next CHEC site by early fall.

CHEC momentum continues to grow. Our current CHEC villages are thriving—and they’re inspiring others. In Soklo Village, CHEC members recently held a community planning session to brainstorm their next group project. Ideas included goat keeping, poultry, groundnut farming, and beekeeping. Each group was tasked with creating a short executive summary, and they’ll soon come together to choose the most promising idea. This type of collaborative planning is a key part of our model—and a testament to the leadership and vision being cultivated at the village level.

New CHEC facilitators are being trained. We’re building capacity not only in our target communities, but within our organization. Three new local facilitators—each of them women—have joined the team and are currently being trained in health promotion, financial literacy, and participatory leadership. They’ll play a central role in leading our next village CHEC.

While we still have work to do to meet our full fundraising goal, your support is laying the groundwork for real, lasting transformation. Every gift brings us closer to launching health trainings, growing kitchen gardens, creating jobs, and forming strong leadership committees in a new village.

We believe deeply in this work—and we’re grateful that you do too.

Please enjoy the new photos we’ve shared, giving a glimpse of what your generosity is making possible. And thank you for standing with us as we continue to build health, hope, and resilience—one village at a time.
