2024 Donor Impact Report- Angola Hunger Relief

By Nilza Costa Baptista | Director

2024 Donor Impact Report – Angola Hunger Relief A Message to Our Supporters

Thanks to your  support, Angola Hunger Relief has reached a powerful milestone in 2024 — not just in the number of lives touched, but in the global recognition of our impact. We are proud to announce that our work was featured in One Young World’s 2024 Impact Report, which includes a full Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis of our project.

A Recognized Impact: $1 Donated = $3 of Social Value

The SROI analysis conducted by One Young World demonstrates that for every $1 invested in Angola Hunger Relief, $3 of value is returned to the community. This score is a powerful validation of our work highlighting that your contributions are not only feeding people but transforming lives through education, employment pathways, and community support.

  • Scope of Analysis: June 2020 – December 2024

  • Total Meals Provided: 110,760

  • People Reached: 1,290 young and elderly Angolans

  • SROI Score: $1:3

This ratio was calculated using rigorous global economic benchmarks, including volunteer labor valuation, cost of nutritious meals, and community events. The impact goes far beyond food — it includes education, mental health, disability inclusion, and empowerment.

Why One Young World Recognition Matters

Being selected by One Young World as a delegate and later for the Action Accelerator programme was more than an achievement — it was a turning point. Our founder, Nilza Costa Baptista, gained international visibility, built connections with leaders worldwide, and received expert training on sustainability, fundraising, and long-term impact planning.

Nilza’s leadership was spotlighted in the report, where she shared:

“I must be doing something right. I got into One Young World. Just being selected gave me a boost of confidence in my leadership and work… I’m gaining visibility and becoming more credible.”

Our Broader Mission: From Meals to Education

With your support, we've expanded from distributing meals to building futures.

New Projects in 2024–2025:

  • Inclusive Education Space in Luanda
Every Monday, we teach literacy, English, Spanish, and French to youth who never had access to education. All students receive a hot meal. 40 students have already participated.

  • First Annual Children’s Education Forum
Held on African Children’s Day, our forum gathered 400 children for a one-day festival with music, sports, and workshops from IT specialists, journalists, mental health advocates, and disability experts.

Thank You for Making This Possible

Whether you donated $5 or $500, your contribution went directly to feeding and empowering communities in Angola. And now, the world is noticing — thanks to you.

Let’s keep the momentum going.

With gratitude,
The Angola Hunger Relief Team
