Dear Donors and Supporters,
This is a belated report, and we regret to inform you that we were unable to raise sufficient funds to begin implementing the sustainable pigs farm for the Community Kitchen.
This year has been particularly challenging for us. In addition to facing financial constraints, we were unable to implement certain projects due to unforeseen difficulties, including our founder navigating mental health struggles. These experiences have reminded us of the resilience it takes to serve our community and reinforced our dedication to this mission.
Now more than ever, we need your support. Although Angola is the second-largest oil producer in Sub-Saharan Africa, the country faces a projected poverty rate affecting 12.4 million people in 2024. This alarming figure reflects the impact of rising food prices and slowing economic growth during 2023, leaving 33% of Angolans living below $2.15 a day. These challenges underline the importance of initiatives like ours to combat hunger and provide sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities.
As the year draws to a close, we would like to leave you with this thought:
"To hope is to move forward; to hope is to join forces with others to create new paths."
Looking ahead to 2025, we remain committed to this project and will continue to dedicate our efforts to exploring and developing new strategies to achieve our fundraising goals.
Why is poverty likely to increase in Angola?
Poverty in Angola is expected to rise due to several interlinked factors:
