This project offers safe and dignified accomodation to women, survivors of gender based violence, homeless, refugees and their children. The care is holistic with medical, mental and vocational support, tailor-made for the residents of our shelter. The result is healed women and children, empowered to start a healthy life, standing on their feet- chasing their dreams.
New EU migration policies worsen conditions for women & children in Greece. Overcrowded, unsanitary, and remote centers put lives at risk: 28% of women report harassment, 10% physical/sexual abuse, 44% show depression or insomnia. Limited shelters and unclear procedures leave single mothers and survivors of violence extremely vulnerable. Urgent reforms are needed to ensure safety, dignity, and access to essential services.
The project provides comprehensive support to women and children survivors or potential survivors of gender-based violence in Greece. It offers trauma-informed psychological care, legal assistance, safe housing, food, medical support, and individualized plans. By empowering women through education, social and economic inclusion, and safe environments, it promotes recovery, dignity, and sustainable community integration, serving also as an advocacy platform for systemic improvements.
The program's interdisciplinary, holistic approach supports women and children survivors of gender-based violence, addressing psychological, social, legal, and economic needs. Through individualized plans, trauma-informed care, and empowerment initiatives, participants gain skills, confidence, and independence. By combining immediate support with long-term education and professional development, the program fosters sustainable recovery, social inclusion, and lasting well-being.
