Have you ever watched a documentary and felt compelled to take action? We have produced the award-winning documentary film The Neighborhood Storyteller to tell the story of Asmaa Rashed. A young female Syrian refugee determined to raise a conscious generation of successful women. We need the funds for the film's impact campaign to help create a reading movement of grassroots change makers to fill educational gaps in vulnerable communities.
Many refugee camps struggle to provide proper education systems because of safety concerns, practicality, cost, sustainability, and lack of qualified personnel. As a result, children are not in school, sometimes for years at a time. Even in cases where there is a school, it is often unsustainable, and girls often don't participate because of cultural traditions.
The Neighborhood Storyteller documentary film aims to inspire many people and organizations around the world to follow the protagonist's footsteps and bring change to their own communities through reading aloud to children and teenage girls.
Actively mobilize people to become We Love Reading ambassadors or supporters. Grassroots organizing - providing the focal point around which individuals and organizations can come together to help reduce the educational gap in teenage girls and vulnerable communities in general.
