At ACDI, we launched a digital skills training program designed to strengthen abilities that are useful for education, work, and everyday life.
Thirty young people from Santa Ana, organized into three groups, took part in this initiative. The training responds to an increasingly important reality: many educational, employment, and participation opportunities require digital skills. Knowing how to create a document, organize information in a spreadsheet, prepare a presentation, or share files collaboratively can make a meaningful difference in how a person studies, works, and develops their own projects.
The program therefore combines foundational knowledge with practical tools. Over the course of four sessions, participants work on digital literacy and Microsoft Word; Excel for organizing information, records, and data; PowerPoint, Prezi, and Canva for creating presentations and visual materials; and tools such as Google Drive and Artificial Intelligence to support organization, collaborative work, and everyday tasks.
More than simply learning how to use specific programs, the goal is for each participant to gain practical tools and resources that help them navigate digital environments with greater independence.
At the end of the training, participants complete a short activity to review the main topics covered and receive a certificate of participation.
This experience is also helping us better understand the digital training needs in Santa Ana and continue adapting our programs to real situations and challenges.
Our next step is to continue creating learning opportunities and to better understand how participants are applying these tools in their daily lives.
Thanks to everyone who supports this project, we can continue creating learning opportunities that strengthen skills and open new possibilities for the Santa Ana community.
