Thanks to a private donation, we launched a CONNECTIVITY CENTER in the rural area of Los Pérez, Taco Ralo, in the south of the province of Tucumán, to serve the community.
Los Pérez is located 20 kilometers from the urban sector of Taco Ralo and is home to 108 families who face communication difficulties not only due to the lack of services but also because their access road is often affected during the rainy season, leading to flooding from two rivers that cross the road.
ACDI has been working in Sitio Los Pérez since 2017, providing socio-community support initiatives to 50 families. In 2023, we organized training workshops aimed at strengthening the local population. Many of these workshops were conducted virtually, posing a challenge for the community as they lacked technological equipment. Therefore, our training spaces received support from a territorial promoter who assisted the local population in using and accessing mobile devices, thus reducing inequalities in technology access.
The primary objective of installing this connectivity center is to establish a community gathering and learning space to enhance the capabilities and development opportunities of families in this rural area. The training process is already underway, based on a program designed by the ACDI team. It includes proposals tailored to the needs of the population, covering topics such as digital training, financial inclusion, marketing, and online sales for entrepreneurs.
Now, the community will have access to a connectivity center to acquire new digital tools that will enhance their capabilities.
