The HUG Project has supported our clients in every way of lives to ensure a healthy 'independent' living. These past six months your support helps us to ensure extra care for four victims who are under witness protection.
Case 1: We supported one girl under the government witness protection program with an oven for her to learn to bake and make some income while she is waiting for her trial. Our staff also teach her baking techniques by herself and she also learned from youtube. To dates she can make cripy brownies, cookies, brownies, cake, cup cakes and many more. She was able to pack them in a nice packages and got a lot of order from government staff.
Case 2 and 3 are two girls under witness protection by registered NGO's shelters. We assist with online classes, school tuition and some necessity. At first the school did not allow one of the girl to study online. It was too dangerous for her to go to school because her trafficker has been trying to reach out to her. With our staff patiently meeting and working with her school administration they finally allow her to study from home until she testify in court. Both of them had a hard time adjusting at first but now they are doing well and is response to the therapy program. One of the girl also gave us tips to go and rescue her other friiend.
Case 4: She was a former trafficked victims. Her house in the suburb was on fire. We were able to gather the team together to help rebuild the house with support from Projtect Justice, some government funding and some of our funding. Her small house was rebuilt and it is much stronger!
Covid can make us feel like distance and it is harder to travel and visit our clients. We are committed to serve and support our client with love and help them to become independent and healthy mentally and finally we could not have done all this without your support!
