Four child survivors in a recent sex-trafficking case need to be relocated immediately for their safety. They have undergone serious trauma, and our team is working to protect them during the justice process. We are trying to avoid separating the children from their families so that they can receive care and support from their parents at this critical time. Additional funds are needed to secure a safe location for the children and their close family members.
These four children must be relocated for their protection. Our legal and social work teams feel strongly that it would be detrimental to remove the children from their parents/close family members who are providing care. This action would further traumatize the children, who have been through so much already.
Additional funding would keep these families together while they navigate the justice system on behalf of the children.
It's impossible to put a value on keeping these children with their parents. They have already endured the trauma and injustice of sexual abuse/exploitation. A second trauma will be undergoing the court system. Why add a third trauma of being separated from their primary caregivers?
