Our crisis pregnancy center operates a formula program in partnership with the Thai government's Department of Social Development & Welfare to provide milk to families in need. This is done via an application process and only through our trusted healthcare network, ensuring that it reaches the families who need it most. This is intended to bridge the gap during temporary loss of family income or in the event of national emergencies, such as monsoon flooding or border conflicts.
Southeast Isan is home to many children with parents who are migrant workers sending money home to family caring for children. Sometimes there is an unexpected loss of income and grandparents struggle to find money to buy formula or milk for their grandchildren. We partner directly with the Thai government to operate a program that gets milk to the families who need it most during times of need.
We have an already-existing infant formula program in partnership with the Thai government's Department of Social Development & Welfare. We will be delivering infant formula and some food to families who have been identified as most in need. It's not uncommon for infants to be given condensed milk mixed with water once the formula runs out. We simply hope to bridge the gap for families until they can go back to work.
Families are the fabric of society. If we can help provide basic needs for a short time to families in distress, Thai society will be a safer and more vibrant place to raise a family in the future. Infants will also be healthier because they will receive the nourishment they need. We always encourage and promote breastfeeding first, but these are children of mothers who no longer have breast milk to provide or the mother is not at home.
