Ensena Peru work with the Fundacion Ninos del Arcoiris's school to provide transcendental education for the students in Urubamba, Cusco. Through the leadership program of Ensena Peru, three professionals play the role of teachers of elementary school students, positively impacting the education of 75 girls and boys.
In Urubamba, 72% of students cannot solve math problems according to their age and 51% do not understand what they read. Reflecting that, the country has an illiteracy rate of 9.9%. In addition, school dropout increased in elementary school to 3.5% and the attendance rate from 3 to 5 years in kinder decreased to 10%.
To change the numbers, we have implemented the leadership program of Ensena Peru in Fundacion Ninos del Arcoiris's school. In the Leadership Program, we attract, recruit, and select diverse professionals to work as teachers in schools for two years, with constant support and tools for pedagogy, leadership, and systemic change.
