Summary

We believe in the power of education and trust in the potential of all Peruvians. We want a country where every student has the opportunity to realize their purpose and achieve their dreams. To do so, we work daily inspired by our vision which is to achieve that by 2032, at least 8 out of 10 children in Peru receive a quality education. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to continue providing education of excellence to amazonian students who are returning to classes after 2 years of hybrid education.

Challenge

In Amazonas, only 6 out of 100 students solve math exercises according to their grade. The illiteracy rate is almost 4 times the national average. These results reflect the region's reality - where 92.3% of schools are in rural areas, 56.9% do not have basic services, and students can take more than 2 hours to go to their schools. Drop-out rates are extremely high, less than half of the students finish school and up to 90% of girls entering primary school will never complete their education.

Solution

Ensena Peru recruits and trains talented professionals to be teachers in public schools of Amazonas, in those areas where they are most needed. Through the Leadership Program, our professionals provide quality education to students enhancing their learnings and development of soft skills; as well as acting as agents of change that bring innovation and educational improvements in the community.

Long-Term Impact

We have been developing our Leadership Program for more than 10 years and it has had a remarkable impact. The projects developed by our students have brought improvement to entire communities. The regions we have reached have a greater commitment to education expanding the horizon of children's lives. Our program places professionals closer to the educational reality. In this way, knowledge and commitment will allow them to promote initiatives, projects, and public policies in favor of education
