Good health is essential for older adults to live with dignity, yet many elderly people in Ghana cannot afford regular medical care. This project will support healthcare for 500 elderly people through medical screenings, essential medicines, health education, and referrals for specialized treatment. By improving access to healthcare, the project will help older adults manage chronic conditions and enjoy healthier, more independent lives.
Many elderly people in Ghana live with chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, and vision problems but cannot afford regular healthcare. Limited income, reduced mobility, and inadequate access to medical services often delay diagnosis and treatment. As a result, preventable health conditions worsen, reducing quality of life and increasing dependence on family members and caregivers.
The project will organize community health outreach programs to provide medical screenings, basic health checks, essential medicines, health education, and referrals for specialized care. Working with healthcare professionals and local partners, the initiative will ensure 500 elderly people receive timely healthcare services and support to better manage their health.
Improved healthcare access will help elderly people detect illnesses earlier, manage chronic conditions more effectively, and reduce preventable complications. The project will promote healthy aging, improve quality of life, and encourage stronger community support for older adults. Over time, healthier elderly people will remain more active, independent, and engaged in their communities.
