We noticed that although there has been an increasing attention regarding menstrual sanitation in the community, female students did not have an area in school that allows them to change their pads. In an effort to continue enabling these students, we are building a small space in which students can safely change their pads. This project will create a safe space for female students during menstruation by providing quality plastic curtains, pain killers, soap, basins and other materials needed.
This project did not raise required amount in first phase.Mountains of Hope noticed that over 800 female students spanning 5 primary schools did not have a space in which they could change their pads. This project will effectively create a safe space for these students to change their pads and care for themselves. By doing so, we hope to further empower the community to focus on the sanitation and health of its members.
This project will provide curtains, pain killers, soap, sanitary pads, and basins for the female students to use throughout the school day. This project will also allow female students to feel safe as they focus on their health care and sanitation.
By providing a safe space for several female students, we hope to push these students to make sanitation and menstruation an attention-worthy topic in communities. Furthermore, these students will hopefully create more safe spaces in their future occupations.
