This project empowers 500 rural women to make liquid soap, liquid soap is used for laundry and dish washing, these women sell their soap to offices and homes,not only will these women make soap but also hair shampoo to be sold to salons, "every woman makes hair so there is high demand for the shampoo" narrated Jovia, a women leader in Mpigi District
Many rural women have no employment other than doing subsistence farming, they do not have any other source of income, yet there are simpler and cheaper jobs they can create.Annet,one of the single mothers in the community we work says she can not pay rent and school fees for her children, she can not even meet other basic needs at home because she has no income generating project she is doing
This project will empower 500 women to make soap and shampoo, the project will enable them connect to markets, will enable them secure tenders from schools, hotels, shops, dispensaries, and homes to supply liquid soap, which is suitable for washing clothes and floors.
The women group will register their product with the national bureau of standards and get certified to enable them continue production of a standard product. This group is working on registration with the Uganda registrar of companies as a business limited by shares
