Challenge

Plastic pollution is a growing challenge in Ghana, with large amounts of waste ending up in streets, drains, rivers, and public spaces. Poor waste disposal practices contribute to flooding, environmental damage, and health risks. Many communities lack access to effective recycling systems and awareness about proper waste management, allowing plastic waste to continue harming the environment.

Solution

The project will organize plastic waste collection activities, support sorting and recycling efforts, and educate communities on responsible waste disposal. By working with volunteers, schools, community groups, and recycling partners, the initiative will collect and recycle 100 tons of plastic waste while encouraging long-term behavior change and stronger community involvement in environmental protection.

Long-Term Impact

Recycling 100 tons of plastic waste will reduce pollution, improve sanitation, and protect Ghana's natural environment. The project will promote sustainable waste management, increase community awareness, and encourage recycling practices that can continue beyond the project period. Over time, cleaner communities and improved environmental responsibility will contribute to a healthier and greener Ghana.
