Orphan Children living with HIV on mediation and malnourished needs good nutrition intake to prolong their life and improve their quality of life. This Micro-project envisions to ensure 30 orphan children living with HIV are provided with monthly nutritional support through protein based groceries and nutritional supplementary food packs that would improve their health status and quality of life.
Orphan Children living with HIV on treatment and under the care of grand parents and extended families are facing a huge challenge on their health status. Lack of proper food and poverty puts these HIV+ children more vulnerable to ill-health and malnutrition. The problem is severe particularly among the rural orphan children under the care of aged grandparents and children living with extended family members.
This micro project aims to solve this problem, by providing monthly nutritional supplementary food packs to 30 orphan children living with HIV every month for next six months. The caretakers and volunteers will be trained on Nutritional counselling to practice healthy food eating practices among children living with HIV.
We will focus on 30 adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) support them on basic health needs, continue their education, and empower them on living life positively by understanding adolescent changes, sexual and reproductive health, build self esteem, communication skills, set goals for life, practice a daily routine of healthy habits, grow up with values and good behaviours, influence peers positively. Trained ALHIV will emerge as Leaders to impact over 9000 children living with HIV in the state.
