There are over 800,000 pupils in government aided primary schools in Uganda, the government pays their school fees but does not cater for their meals. Majority of the guardians can not afford daily money to feed children at school. This funding will buy 400 kilograms of maize flour per school. 02 rural primary schools in Mpigi district will benefit from this program for afull term for porridge, over 500pupils will benefit
Over 1000 pupils attend class room lessons on empty stomach in rural schools in Mpigi district and this has directly led to poor performance and geared high school drop rates, children go to look for mangoes and other fruits the whole day thus missing lessons. This project will purchase maize flour for 05 poor schools
This project will reduce high drop rates resulting from hunger and will improve on performance as children will not attend school lessons on empty stomachs. Each child will be able to eat one cup of porridge to enable them be sober in class
When children have meals, they grow up healthy and bright, when children complete education, they become agents of change in their community, there fire, investing in them is investing in their future and the future of the community they live in
