This project will provide 300 plastic buckets filled with groceries, to families in need in the various underprivileged communities that we serve. These buckets of groceries are to see them through the festive season in December, when many struggle to provide for their family.
This project aims to alleviate hunger in the underprivileged communities that we serve. Hundreds of thousands of people are affected by hunger daily in South Africa, which is worsened during the festive season in December when many are unable to work or find jobs due to annual shut downs. Many of these families are child-headed households and homes without parents, where unemployed grandparents look after the children.
This project will provide buckets filled with groceries to see families through December. These buckets will be distributed at the end of November and will be given to desperate families that have been identified by our community leaders.
The project will feed around 30 000 meals a month to children, women and men in desperate need in our city, ensuring that they are also taken care in during this world wide pandemic.
