Two months ago we spent the night celebrating with over 500 children, ages 2-18, at our 10th annual Christmas dinner. The kids came dressed in their best and everyone was in such high spirits for the entire evening. We ate, sang, and danced together, and also viewed four dance and theater performances put together by the kids. Dinner was served in three rounds, starting with the youngest kids first. Everyone agreed the food was delicious, and the children were able eat until completely satisfied. We were also able to invite our neighbors in to enjoy some food after all the children had eaten.
The celebration was a huge success and really highlights the incredible sense of community in our program. Our director, Veronica, shared with each group how the night was made possible by the support of individuals all around the world, and even though they weren't physically present, they were still a part of the celebration. The fact that this event has been going on for 10 years—since the very beginning of The Bienvenido Project—is a success in itself!
A heartfult thank you to everyone who helped make this night possible!
