Many young people are facing different struggles in life and find it difficult to navigate them. With your help, we are able to celebrate and raise awareness about youth rising above their adversities.
Encouraging Youth Who Rise Above Adversities
Faced with disputes and challenges at home and in school, 15-year-old Hao felt alone and trapped. As his problems persist, he soon became very unmotivated and aimless in life. Worried for him, his school teacher referred him to Trybe’s *Chrysalis programme.
“Chrysalis is like a safe space for me to pour my emotions and frustrations. My Social Worker, Claudia, journeys with me through my difficulties at home and in school. She encourages and motivates me to rise above my adversities and come out stronger! I now have a goal to strive towards.”
From sleeping through his classes and getting into trouble all the time, to working hard towards his new-found goal, Hao aims to enter the Polytechnic Foundational Programme (PFP) in time to come.
*Chrysalis is a community-based outreach & intervention programme that aims to attend to the youth’s needs and guide them away from risk behaviours, provides emotional support, improves family relationships, and helps them to thrive in a school or work environment.
