"From the minute a child is taught how to play an instrument, they are no longer poor. They become a child in progress." quote by Jose Antonio Abreu This project will help us to teach violin and cello at Tuan's Music School, and provide employment for our music teachers for one year. With your help, we can continue this program for our students, as well as provide additional opportunities for other talented, young Vietnamese musicians, living in the rural areas of Vietnam.
Our music school needs a permanent space to hold classes, as well as salary and training for our teachers. Although many children go to school, music programs are only available to the elite. Students living in poverty cannot afford musical instruments or instruction.
This project will employee 2-3 young adults as music teachers and will also provide a place for talented music students to come, take classes, and express themselves in a stress-free environment.
This project will help Vietnamese youth develop a positive self-image, leadership skills, and a sense of community. We hope that these youth will be able to excel in school, their work, and as citizens through this opportunity.
