Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund

Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund is a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated to helping Vietnamese children and families in need. Our goal is to provide learning opportunities for young students through our art and music programs, as well as providing support for them and their families.
100 Bikes for 100 Girls

We are giving girls who live in rural and poor villages in Vietnam, bicycles to help them get to school. Many young girls walk one or more hours one way to school, and these long distances often keep them from attending regularly. Safety is another reason to give young girls bikes, as they are very often the targets of human trafficking to the sex trade and sweatshops. Bicycles are the first simple answer to improving both their safety and access to education. project reportread updates from the field
Teach Art to Vietnamese Youth

This project will provide after school art programs to young, underprivileged Vietnamese students. Working with local partners and schools, we identify talented young student artists and provide them with art supplies, materials and classes, and the chance to create art with other kids in a community-based setting. project reportread updates from the field
Community Music Program for Poor Vietnamese Youth

Our program provides weekly music and string ensemble lessons to poor Vietnamese youth. With the help of local schools, we identify poor students who are talented at music. Each student receives a violin or cello and takes lessons after school, 2-3 days a week. On the weekends the students come together to play as a community ensemble. Our program creates a place for kids who live in poverty, to be mentored, to share their love of music, and create long lasting friendships. project reportread updates from the field
Teacher Training for Young Vietnamese Musicians

This is Tuan, our talented music teacher from Cam Duc, Vietnam. Tuan has been teaching violin to our first 12 students for over a year. He comes from a rural area of Vietnam and has always dreamed of having the opportunity to become a music teacher. Last year we bought him his first violin. Tuan would benefit greatly with professional music lessons to help him become a better teacher. Please help Tuan and our other teachers attend professional music classes. project reportread updates from the field
40 Bikes for 40 Girls

In Vietnam walking and biking are the main ways students get to school. By having a bicycle a girl can save 3 hours each day for every 10 miles she travels. Compared to walking, bicycles are a simple answer to improving access to education, they directly influence whether or not a student (often girls) stay in school or drop out. This project will purchase bikes for 40 girls and help keep them in school. project reportread updates from the field
Violins and Cellos for Vietnamese Students

Tuan's small music school opened last year in Cam Ranh, Vietnam with only 10 violins and 1 cello. The students were thrilled to receive their first instruments. Over the year many more local students have been hearing about the school and are waiting to join. This program has given these young Vietnamese students an instrument, free lessons, and the opportunity to play together in a string ensemble. Tuan would like to reach more students by purchasing 10 more violins and 2 cellos. project reportread updates from the field
