Summary

Devastated by the storm. Two large aviaries are completely destroyed and other enclosures badly damaged after 130 km/h winds ripped through Kogelberg. New injured and orphaned animals are already arriving, and we're racing against time. Your support will urgently rebuild safe spaces so these vulnerable wildlife don't suffer. Every donation helps heal lives and release them back into the wild. Without your help right now, rescue work in this vital biosphere is at risk.

Challenge

The storm has left vulnerable wildlife with nowhere safe to go. Injured birds, orphaned mammals, and other rescued animals, including many new storm victims now face overcrowded or unsuitable conditions. The Centre's Capacity has been crippled, putting the recovery and survival of patients at serious risk. Without urgent action, these animals cannot receive the expert care they desperately need, and many may not make it back into the Kogelberg Biosphere.

Solution

Your donation will deliver immediate relief. Directly finance urgent clean-up and essential repairs to the damaged enclosures and rehabilitation areas. Rebuilding secure aviaries and shelters, clear dangerous debris, and restore safe housing as quickly as possible. Every Dollar raised will go straight into materials, equipment, and skilled labour so we can rapidly reopen capacity and give every rescued animal the expert care they need to heal and return to the wild.

Long-Term Impact

This will create a stronger, more resilient wildlife rescue centre for years to come. Rebuilt enclosures will increase capacity to rehabilitate more injured and orphaned animals, leading to continued successful release rates back into the Kogelberg Biosphere. By strengthening infrastructure, the Centre will be better prepared for future storms and climate challenges, ensuring continuous life-saving care in this vital biodiversity hotspot.
