Dear Patrons,
We are glad to report that we have utilized around 64% of the raised funds towards the Lifeskills training in the Government schools in the Coimbatore area. A total of INR 232823 was disbursed after the commissions, bank fees and deductions, out of which INR 148396 has been utilized so far for the project. The rest of INR 84,428 will be utilized in the academic year 2018-19 for imparting the planned training to different sets of children of same/different government schools in Coimbatore area.
Health Education Training
Health education related teacher training was conducted on 27th of January 2018. This was followed by orientation of students from 29th of January to 12th February in all the 10 supported government schools in Coimbatore area. In primary schools, the training was conducted from 29th of January to 31st of January. In high schools and higher secondary schools, the training was conducted from 29th of January to 12th of February.
Environment training
Environment related teachers training and demo session was conducted on 30th of December 2017. The teachers assisted the students in preparing the sand and the compost for the nurseries from January 3rd. The activity was conducted in all the 10 schools supported in the Coimbatore area. The training and awareness creation for all the students was completed on January 31st, 2018.
We are glad to share that in the 4 high schools and higher secondary schools, a total of 2000 nursery covers were prepared and 2000 seeds were sown, out of which 1700 sprouted up. 1100 of those 1700 were in good shape to be distributed and planted. 1045 of those 1100 were distributed to the students or their parents, 25 were planted in the schools premises, and 30 were distributed to the general public.
Also, in the 6 primary schools, a total of 1500 nursery covers were prepared and 1500 seeds were sown, out of which 1182 sprouted up. All the 1182 saplings were distributed – 1135 to students & parents, 25 were planted in the schools, and 22 were distributed to the general public.
Career Guidance
Career guidance was provided to students of Narasipuram school on January 8th, and Madampatti school on January 9th. Career guidance for the rest of the 2 schools will be conducted in 2018-19.
