Tamar Center (Tamar) is a ministry working with the bar girls (prostitutes) in Pattaya, Thailand. Tamar wants to offer additional vocational training options in the hospitality industry, the biggest job growth sector in Thailand. To do this, Tamar will open a guest house training facility where the women can learn hostelry next to Tamar Center and use it to grow the existing Restaurant and Bakery Business as well. In addition we will also start a counseling center to help the women further.
The additional Building will offer more vocational Training options for the women that are willing to leave the Bars behind. It will give them more chances to come out and earn a living. In addition the counseling Center will help with providing the needed support and care for the women to overcome the Traumas from their experience working in the Bars.
Through vocational Training in hostelry, Hotel Reception, Cleaning Staff, Driver for Airport Pick ups, etc the women will be able to gain practical job skills that they can use all over the country in good jobs. We will also train soft skills that are very needed and looked for here in Thailand. With a stable income the women can look after themselves, their children and families
Our goal for the women is to leave Pattaya, maybe return to their families and to have a normal life outside of the sex industry. We will train the women job skills and help them to find employment or help them to start their own small business so that they can provide for themselves and their children. Also, when they return to their families, they will help to prevent other young girls and boys to start a work in the sex industry.
