After Hurricane Fionna, the Casa Familiar (CF) of the Juana Colón Sánchez public Montessori school in Comerío was greatly affected, rendering the space uninhabitable. Since then, fundraising initiatives were started, including this microproject, aimed to restore the space and at the same time, to continue serving the school population.
Currently, program participants are being tended to in a small, temporary space provided by the school. Withe the donations received INE's administration has purchased some of the lost equipment so the program participants can enjoy the facilities once more and receive the emotional support CF provides. The participants will be able to take part in workshops and the staff of the Comerío CF will be able to continue their tasks, being facilitators, educators, providers of mental health services, and be distinguished as a support network in the school.
