Dear donors, thank you so much for supporting Giovanni.
In June you gave him 80,000 francs CFA (about 160 $) to which he added 30,000, he bought 3 piglets at 30,000 each and food and vaccination for 20,000. He also feeds them kitchen and farming waste.
We recently interviewed him, and he shared his plans with us.
´´In 6 months I will cross the pigs and then sell the male for about 100,000. I will take that money and use it to request a loan of 300,000. [With AgroFinancial Services, a local microfinance we introduced him to.] With the loan I will do the poultry I planned, to be producing eggs, as I had planned but I also have plans to expand the piggery. I really like it, I´m comfortable working in it. I will and manage both the piggery [with 2 pigs and a good number of piglets] and the poultry farm.´´
He plans to eventually open a breakfast cafeteria, but for now he will sell eggs to restaurants and households.
11 months from now he will be selling the first piglets, making, if he has some 8 piglets, about 200,000. I want to start the poultry as I planned,
He had words of appreciation for you.
”I´m grateful. I just want to really appreciate their kindhearted and benevolent donation. I pray God will continue to bless them. This has really helped me, it has given me focus, I did not have anything going.”
And we also talked about his future. ´´I´m attracted to agriculture. I hope one day I can work with a company or with an NGO like yours in the field of agriculture. I want to get a technical degree but so far I´ve not had money.´´
Dear donors, thank you so much, you have taken a brilliant young man and given him the opportunity he needed. If you want to keep getting news about him and other Cameroonian entrepreneurs, you can stay connected to us through Facebook.
