Giovanni, 26, is an unemployed young Cameroonian living in the underprivileged community of Tole. He is the last born of a large family. Even though he is a University graduate, he had to go back to his family house after finishing his studies, unable to find any job opportunity. He is way more than that, he is a determined entrepreneur with an idea: Make a low-priced fast food restaurant for low-income clients in synergy with his own organic poultry farm, and you can help him.
Government is, by far, the top employer of Cameroonian citizens, and government jobs are not enough. Job opportunities are hard to come by even for University Graduates. In this impossible climate, recent graduates can stay unoccupied for periods of more than 2 years. With this large mass not using their skills, producing or consuming significantly, the economy further deteriorates. Those youths who want to start a business lack, access to capital and they seem condemed to the informal economy.
A few entrepreneurs with a natural drive decide to go against this tendency. With your help, Giovanni will be one of them. "Most, if not all the produce of the farm will be served in the restaurant, allowing us to reduce prices significantly. There is only one other restaurant in the area, they don't have this advantage and they are not reliable enough, simple fried eggs are very scarce in Tole. What they sell for 200 we can sell for 150. In less than 4 months well have the initial costs back"
You could transform an unemployed and impoverished young man into an entrepreneur and an employer to others. He won't stop here "We can have more than one restaurant". In 2016 Giovanni participated in Reach Out Cameroon's Innovation Challenge, winning the prize for best business idea (Bio Gas Production and distribution in rural communities) which he also masters, but he needs about 5000$. This is just the first step into a man's story of serial entrepreneurship, you want to be part of it.
