Final Report

Project: Help Install Boreholes to El Niño Drought Victims
Subject: A Donation of $100 Was Used to Survey a Borehole
Date: 25 April 2025

Introduction

This report summarizes the utilization of the $100 donation received through the GlobalGiving platform for the micro project "Help Install Boreholes to El Niño Drought Victims." Though the project has now been retired, we are pleased to share how the funds made an impact.

Fund Utilization
  • Total Donation Received: $100

  • Purpose: Borehole site survey

The $100 was used to conduct a professional hydrogeological survey in one of the drought-affected communities. This essential survey was the first critical step in identifying a viable location for drilling a borehole.

Survey Outcomes:

  • Assessed groundwater availability and quality at the selected site.

  • Provided technical recommendations on the depth, positioning, and drilling approach for a future borehole installation.

  • Helped ensure that future investments into drilling would be efficient, effective, and sustainable.

Impact

While the donation covered only the surveying phase, this foundational work has set the stage for further efforts to bring lasting access to clean water for the community. It also strengthened the case for seeking additional funding for full borehole installation.

Appreciation

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all donors for their trust and support. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in building resilient communities in the face of the El Niño drought crisis.

Although this micro project has concluded, we remain committed to pursuing solutions to the ongoing water challenges faced by vulnerable families in Zimbabwe.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
