This project will support community clean-up activities in 10 communities across Ghana to improve sanitation and create healthier living environments. Through organized clean-up exercises, waste collection, and community education on proper waste disposal, the project will help reduce environmental pollution and promote healthier communities.
Poor waste disposal and inadequate sanitation continue to affect many communities in Ghana. Uncollected waste blocks drains, creates breeding grounds for mosquitoes and rodents, and contributes to the spread of diseases such as malaria, cholera, and typhoid. Many communities also lack the resources and awareness needed to maintain clean public spaces, putting children and families at greater health risk.
This project will organize community clean-up campaigns in 10 communities, provide cleaning tools and waste collection materials, and educate residents on proper sanitation and waste management practices. Working with local volunteers, community leaders, and local authorities, the project will promote regular clean-up activities and encourage community ownership of a cleaner environment.
Cleaner communities will reduce environmental pollution, improve public health, and encourage lasting sanitation practices. The project will strengthen community participation, inspire regular clean-up initiatives, and create healthier environments where children and families can live, learn, and thrive.
