Summary

This project will help build extra and bigger classrooms to ensure the safety of the 200 children of Rare Gem Talent school. Social distancing is the biggest challenge when all children return to school in January 2021. The number of children accommodated in a room is half the regular classroom. The funds will be used to construct bigger classrooms on a newly acquired plot and purchase more desks to accommodate all students addressing the social distancings challenge of 1.5 meters in class.

Challenge

Rare Gem Talent School currently sits on a quarter-acre rented plot of land. The place is small with no extra space to expand. Rare Gem Talent School has acquired a piece of land where there are plans to construct a new school with big classrooms and a boarding facility. This will enable accommodate all our students with learning difficulties and attain the 1.5-meter social distancing in class and the dormitories and prevent the possible spread of the virus.

Solution

This project will enable the construction of extra and big classrooms, dormitories, and buy extra desks which will address the social distancing challenge. We will be ready to receive students and attain the spacing requirements as outlined by the government.

Long-Term Impact

The project will ensure that the staff and the students are able to overcome the challenges posed by the Covid 19. The students will also enjoy a conducive learning environment while their parents ride on the guarantee that their children are safely back in school. Learning will resume with minimal risk of contraction of the virus. More job opportunities will be created because extra staff will be contracted to help meet government regulations. The community around the school will also benefit.
