This project will be a life saver for 100 families who are severely affected by the famine in Tigray.
The current famine in Tigray is putting the lives of many people at risk, people are migrating from their areas of origin in search of food, children are dropping out of school due to hunger. In our area alone there are approximately 24000 people at risk of starvation. Some of the areas are incredibly hard to reach as some roads are still closed due to the results of the war and ongoing political tensions in these areas leaving the people in a desperate situation.
Abraham's Oasis will provide cash support to these families as it is impossible to bring in food supplies. The local people can purchase their choice of food from the surrounding areas. Farming communities live from the excess of their harvest so due to failed harvest, their is no food but also no money from the sale of crops. Having money will enable them to buy food. 50 Dollar will supply one family of 6 with enough support to survive.
The project will keep100 families alive, prevents family separation, enable children to stay in school, thus giving them a future.
