For #GivingTuesday on November 29th, our goal is to reach 5,000$ so that the 130 children at Arca can enjoy the 13 socio-cultural activities we've developed. This will ensure a better chance at success in life for the children in the Vila Prudente favela. . 10$= 1 month of organic produce for 1; 25$= a year's worth of stationery for 1; 50$ = 2 cultural outings; 75$= sports equipment for a year;150$= 1 month of percussion classes for all; 250$= 1 month of training in computer skills.
Maintaining and developing activities at Arca do Saber is one of our biggest challenges. Even after 20 years, we still have so many ideas but not always the means to carry them out. This project will give us a head start into acquiring funding for the beginning of this new decade and is also an opportunity to communicate about the diversity of activities offered at Arca in order to highlight the impact and importance of our role as education experts in the Vila Prudente favela.
By fundraising a significant part of the 20 000$ yearly budget allocated to our socio-educational activities, Arca will be able to open up more opportunities for children at the center. We have the ambition of targeting integral development, which means approaching education and wellbeing as an intersectional matter - we believe that our beneficiaries will be better learners and happier children if all their physical and emotional needs are met.
Since 2001, Arca contributes to building a better future for children and youths growing in Vila Prudente's favela. Educational and vocational programs led by Arca reinforce the community's cohesion and allow its children to unlock their potential through artistic, sportive and linguistic activities. Professional training and psychological support give young adults the tools to access the labour market with increased self-esteem and a sense of their own value.
