AIL's resources have been stretched by the expansion of need created by the COVID-19 pandemic. AIL provides health and education services to an orphanage and now needs further funding so it can continue with this work. The orphans rely on AIL's health clinic and its education classes so they can be healthy and well educated.
AIL has been providing a health clinic and education classes to an orphanage for the last 10 years. The children get quality health care so they remain healthy. The classes provided include, computing and English as well as life and social skills. Two job-related skills are taught which are gardening for the boys and tailoring for the girls. The classes help the orphans excel at school and keep up with their peer group and when they age out of the orphanage, they have a income generating skill.
This funding will enable AIL to continue providing services at the orphanage in Herat. The health clinic will care for the children providing disease and injury care, preventive care such as vaccines, health education and nutritional assessments. The education classes will continue for the 200 children who live at the orphanage.
The orphanage relies on AIL's services to ensure the children are healthy and well educated. Without this care, these children will fall behind in their education and be disadvantaged as adults. Good health means children can study, good education means they can go on to higher education or find jobs as equals of those who have families.

This means that your donation may be used as a part of the main project that supports this microproject, specifically Covid-19 Aid for Afghans. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.
