This project will provide a Christmas meal and gift to 500 rural community children in southeastern Ghana. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the usual bright, cheery Christmas gatherings aren't possible, so HOCAP will instead be delivering some joy through boxed meals to each of the children.
In a normal year, HOCAP always organizes a Christmas celebration for the local community children from rural areas and deprived communities, along with orphans and children living on the street. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional large gatherings aren't possible. To ensure safety and compliance with local regulations, HOCAP has decided to redesign its usual program while still bringing joy to the children during the Christmas season.
Because this year's celebration is more of a challenge, HOCAP plans to deliver individual boxes to each child. To avoid gathering in a crowd, staff members will deliver a special Christmas box to each child, which they can take home to enjoy with their families. Each box will contain a gift and a Christmas meal to bring some extra joy to these disadvantaged children during such difficult times.
The project will continue the ongoing goals of HOCAP to address the education, health care, and economic needs of rural Ghanaian communities ranging in size from 200 - 1,000 people.
