Challenge

Adaklu Kpetsu is a rural community in Ghana where the existing borehole produces salty water that cannot safely be used by families. Community members lack reliable access to clean drinking water and rely on unsafe water sources. Without proper testing, the community cannot determine the best solution to fix the problem and provide safe water for children and families.

Solution

This microproject will fund professional testing and assessment of the existing borehole water in Adaklu Kpetsu. The testing will help identify why the water is salty and determine the best next steps to provide safe, clean water for the community. The results will guide Friends of Adaklu in developing an effective long-term water solution for local families and students.

Long-Term Impact

Access to clean water will reduce disease, improve school attendance, and strengthen family well-being. Over time, this will foster healthier, more educated, and economically resilient families-breaking the cycle of poverty and building a stronger future for the entire community.
