Friends of Adaklu Country Representative Stella Kudah and a laboratory officer from Ghana’s Community Water and Sanitation Agency visited Adaklu Kpetsu to test the community’s borehole water. This important testing was made possible thanks to the generosity of a caring donor. Thank you!

The laboratory results are now available and confirm that the sodium and chloride levels in the borehole water do not meet acceptable drinking water quality standards. The results show that the water is too salty for safe drinking and daily household use.
Based on these findings, a reverse osmosis machine has been recommended as the best solution for treating the water and making it safe for the community. Friends of Adaklu is working with an engineer to obtain pricing for either a one ton or two ton reverse osmosis system.
This project will also require a small structure to protect the equipment, a poly tank to store treated water, plumbing, and an electricity connection. Robert Tornu, Friends of Adaklu’s Policy and Program Advisor, is sharing these findings with community members and helping guide the next steps toward a clean water solution.
Thank you for helping make this vital testing possible. Because of your support, Adaklu Kpetsu now has clear information about the water challenge and a recommended path toward safe, reliable water for children and families.
