Teachers are the single most important factor exerting the most lasting impression in shaping a child's mind, intelligence and life trajectory. Particularly at the elementary level, direct interaction between teachers and students is deemed as an essential dynamic for teaching learning process. Retaining good teachers has hence been determined as a priority for providing quality education to JAAGO Foundation schools.
As stated this project will provide incentives for the talented graduates to teach at primary level through raising their pay scale and providing trainings and scope for career progression. Teachers are leaders and this project is aimed at developing leaders who would excel through their contribution to the most underprivileged segment of the society as well as to the nation.
Increased remuneration and other incentives will directly affect the student-teacher relationship and improve learning environment for the students. In the long run, quality teachers will not only improve their test scores but also help improve their socio-economic status, develop them into skilled human resources and break the vicious cycle of poverty.
