In Bangladesh, women are often denied opportunities for education which puts them at a risk of trafficking and exploitation. JAAGO Foundation creates possibilities for women who are deprived of basic human rights and ensures a sense of safety and security for them. In addition, women are helped to develop their skills, make sound decisions and achieve economic power. Therefore, you can join us in our fight to aid women with their fundamental rights and help them explore their capabilities.
Women should have the right to a free basic education. However in Bangladesh, women are discriminated against, abused, have unequal rights and simply disregarded. The norms and culture held by the country violate girl's rights to a healthy and fulfilling life.Women are expected to do household chores and look after the family and these patriarchal concepts not only strip away girls from their rights but also compromise the growth in the nation's economy.
Through this project, the underprivileged girls at JAAGO schools will have a greater chance of escaping poverty, raise the standard of living of their communities and have healthier and productive lives. With a rightful education, they will acquire the knowledge and skills to make wise decisions and be self-sufficient.
Investing in the education of the girls brings high returns in terms of aiding social and economic growth. To be more precise, it will promote social inclusion, encourage gender equality and make them well-informed emerging leaders. An educated girl is far more likely to commit to educating her own children, which in turn will empower an entire generation. Therefore, educating girls will help control the birth rate, improve basic hygiene, health care and the community as a whole.
