In the Rubuguri area of Uganda, The Angel Projects continues the fight against the spread of COVID-19 by building and maintaining tippy-taps (handwashing stations) as well as teaching the locals how to use them and how to take other preventive measures against the spread of disease. With your support we are getting close to over 100 tippy taps built throughout the Kisoro District!
Some delivery truck drivers that stock the local merchants who pass through the district have tested positive for COVID-19, but because of the precautions taken by the villagers, there have been no cases in the Rubuguri area. Our message on handwashing, wearing masks and maintaining social distance is being heard and adhered to.
The Feeding Program in Uganda for families whose incomes have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is thriving and the the support we have received is awesome.
Justus our general manager in Uganda has established a coupon program which provides local families with coupons they can exchange for food and other necessities at local shops. The coupons are created by Justus with our organization stamp so the merchants know they will be reimbursed by us when a villager uses a stamp in exchange for food or supplies needed. We are trying to reach out to the most needy and in some villages we are delivering sacks of flour and posho (the local meal) to be distributed to families. This is a program that we will need the most support to help prevent food insecurity while they wait for the country to open again so the people can work and earn a living for their family.
Thank you for all your support with these programs!
