This project is for building and installing handwashing stations as well as training others on how to build them throughout Uganda. Justus, our General Manager, has trained a great team to travel to multiple villages to install handwashing stations as well as educating the people on COVID 19 and the importance of handwashing.
Preventing the spread of COVID 19 by providing the handwashing stations and educating the local people on the benefits of proper hygiene and health. We've also know the extreme need for food because of the quarantine where people are unable to work or even buy or sell at the local market each week.
We've established a food program working with local food merchants to develop a food trade program. People who need food, coal or oil to feed their families can receive an official Angel Projects Uganda coupon (with a designated dollar amount) we created and use it at the local merchants for goods. Which the merchants bring to us for reimbursement. We have also isolated the hardest hit areas, bringing staples that are needed to keep people from dying from malnutrition and starvation.
Multiple tippy taps (handwashing stations) are installed in different trading centers through the Kisoro District in Uganda and at the junction where people travel from Kisoro and heading to Nombe. They are at the centers and junctions to show others how to build one as well as a being fully functional hand washing stations. We believe this will stop the spread of not just COVID 19, but many other diseases that are spread though unsanitary conditions.
