A Retail Shop for a Widow in Uganda

Summary

This funding will enable Sarah establish a small home based business to enable her take care of her kids, Sarahs husband passed on recently to HIV/AIDS, fortunately Sarah is HIV Negative,she was left helpless as her husband was the bread winner.When she is able to sustain her family, she will not be a burden to the neighbors and relatives and her children will continue going to school.

Challenge

Sarah has become a burden to the community as she needs to be everything from relatives and neighbors, Sarah can run a home based retail shop if there was capital, there is no retail shop in her neighborhood yet there is demand for items in the area, she will enjoy the monopoly too.

Solution

This project will first train Sarah in book keeping, business management before the business is established for her to enable her run the business professionally.

Long-Term Impact

When she starts the business, even her children will always help sell when they are at home, this will keep their business growing and expanding, his will reduce or eliminate the burden she is putting on relatives and neighbors.
